Meet Josie Crafford ’20, a Georgian Court University alumna whose GCU experience was shaped by lasting friendships and the connections she made with classmates and professors.

Josie earned her degree in Business Administration and now works as a human resources professional.

“I chose GCU because of the class sizes. I knew I wouldn’t be just a number and could interact with classmates and professors in a small-group setting,” Josie shared.

One of her favorite memories was attending the Winter Formal in her junior year with Autumn Coates, a friend she has known since kindergarten. Their longtime friendship continued at GCU, where they shared a special night dancing and celebrating with friends.

Historic features across Georgian Court’s campus have recently been restored by Kingstone Restoration, including the Dolphin Fountain in the Sunken Garden, a marble bench in the Formal Garden, and the hand of the Blessed Virgin Mary statue, which was recently recovered.

The Dolphin Fountain, believed to have been acquired from a garden in southern France and dating to the 17th century, underwent structural repairs that restored its integrity and eliminated the risk of collapse. Its basin was also cleaned and repaired to ensure proper drainage, and water has been restored to the fish at the base of the fountain. The project was made possible in part through the generosity of a Georgian Court alumna.

During the restoration, a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary returned to the fountain where they were married, adding another special connection to its history.
