Congratulations to Tim Allemang on recently earning his Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University!

Many in the community know Tim from his time as both a student and employee in the Hannah V. McCauley Library.

After graduating from OHIO Lancaster with an Associate in Arts and a Bachelor of Specialized Studies degree (2004), Tim continued his academic journey in library science and now he’s officially completed his master’s degree.

We’re excited that Tim will be spending most of the summer working in the Hannah V. McCauley Library, so be sure to stop by and say hello! He plans to begin his career in library science by finding a full-time position in the Central Ohio area.

Congratulations, Tim, and best wishes as you begin this exciting new chapter! 👏

Summer break is the perfect time to bake up a little Bobcat nostalgia.

Some may remember this famous Sour Cream Coffee Cake from Ohio University Dining Services in The Zone. Now you can make the classic favorite right at home.

🥣 Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients

2 cups and 2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
2 sticks of butter
2 cups sifted cake flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup pecans, chopped (optional)

Directions

1. For the cake batter, cream 2 cups sugar, eggs and butter until very light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Carefully fold in sour cream and vanilla.
2. For the topping, mix together 2 tablespoons sugar, cinnamon and pecans.
3. Grease and flour a Bundt cake pan. Sprinkle half of the topping in bottom of prepared pan, and top with half of the batter. Add the remaining topping and then the rest of the batter.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.
