Please join the AVC Anthropology Club today May 5 for National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

We have created a remembrance space in the Fine Arts Quad dedicated to honoring victims, remembering the stolen voices and lives of Indigenous women and providing a safe space for solace and community awareness.

“Red Dress Day," is a day dedicated to honoring victims, supporting families, and raising awareness about the epidemic of violence against Indigenous women, particularly in the US and Canada.

The red hand symbolizes the connection between the physical world and the spiritual world. Native Americans believe that the dead can see red, so by wearing red we invoke the help of our ancestors and spiritual guides. Native Hope 2025
