Ella is a government and public policy joint major from Yardley, Pa. and is currently involved in , , and the Committee on Learning and Student Success.

“I wanted to do this program because I’m highly interested in government, legal studies, and civic engagement. Also, the opportunity to speak to influential individuals such as Senator Corey Booker, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and many others has acted as a huge source of inspiration that I will carry with me throughout my career.”

In the fall of 2022, six Franklin & Marshall College students — pictured here with Advanced Studies in England - ASE staff — took part in a new program called iF&M and spent their first semester living and learning in England under the guidance of an F&M faculty member. 🇬🇧

As of this month, those students are now F&M grads! 🎓

Sarah Chapla ’26 said that as an iF&M student, she continually had the opportunity to see her studies come to life. “My World War I course involved visits to the Imperial War Museum, regional war monuments, and Remembrance Day ceremonies; my comparative politics course included tours of Parliament; and my drawing course was supplemented by a trip to the National Gallery.”

“It’s been inspiring to see how much each of these students has accomplished individually in their four years. Equally meaningful is the strong connection they’ve retained with their cohort crew and the iF&M program,” says Sue Mennicke, Associate Dean for International Programs.

A new group of first-years are currently preparing for their own fall semester in Bath. Learn more about the program on our website: https://www.fandm.edu/ifandm/
