F&M Department of Music The music program at F&M is one of the most active areas of the College, with a wide network of stud

F&M’s Music Department is a vibrant community of faculty, students, and staff, brought together in pursuit of the creation, performance, and study of music. Staffed by a renowned faculty of artists, composers, and scholars, the department offers a broad range of courses in theory, history, jazz, composition, ethnomusicology, and performance, in addition to excellent ensembles and private lessons.

The College Chorus, Chamber Singers, small and large Orchestras, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, African Drum Ensemble, and Chamber Music Society offer ensemble experiences at a level of excellence not commonly found at liberal arts colleges. The diversity of our students’ backgrounds and academic interests contribute to the rich and exciting atmosphere of the department.
