Langston University's School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences regrets to inform the public that the Early Childhood Development Center will be closing permanently on July 31, 2019.

The yearly costs to operate the Center far exceed the capability to continue to provide funding needed to support quality childcare services on campus. This decision was not made lightly but involved a series of forums with parents, employees, and faculty throughout the Spring semester in order to gather more information and options. After vetting through the feedback from the forums the ultimate conclusion was that the center was no longer financially or operationally sustainable.

Thank you for understanding and if you have any questions please direct them to Dr. Wesley L. Whittaker, Dean, School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, at [email protected] or via phone at 405-466-6155.

As we begin Black History Month, Langston University would like to take this opportunity to honor the people, places, and events that struggled against adversity to achieve universal rights for all people. This month, we will focus inwards on the home state where LU is located. African American history in Oklahoma is often unrepresented in the general discussion of history, but it has had an enormous influence and made meaningful contributions to societal trends and traditions that are current today for many Oklahomans. Every day, we will highlight what makes our history in Oklahoma so special.
