Today was indeed a memorable Opening Convocation for the 2026/2027 academic year at Langston University.

The LU Concert Choir featured wonderfully in song, led by our super talented Tyrek Bain. Cheers to an amazing school year!

Grateful to be part of the candlelight memorial service of 3 Langston Lions who have run their race. We got to immortalize them in our thoughts and prayers this weekend. Shout out to our awesomely talented freshman vocal music major Tyrek Bain for leading us in song...great first performance as an LU Lion.

Post Concert Musings (Oklahoma City, OK)...

Building upon the rich history and legacy of the Langston University Choral Program, we are not oblivious of the support system we currently enjoy: from the University administration to faculty, staff, alumni, parents and our neighboring communities. As we continue to positively reshape and redefine our musical culture, we remain grateful for what little graces we enjoy!

From January 2025 till now, the trajectory has been upward with steady momentum. The LU Concert Choir is experiencing new shifts in musical culture. We are not there yet because we know the journey is still a ways to go; but we certainly aren't where we used to be!
