Legendary Brotherhood…

Freemasonry is the oldest, largest, and most esteemed fraternal organization in the world. Since 1818, the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Indiana and our entire Hoosier Masonic family have been cornerstones of nearly every Indiana community, large and small. Today, Indiana has 50,000 Masons in almost 400 lodges throughout the state, and we represent men from all w

alks of life. A Freemason is a man eager to be part of something bigger than himself, with a reverence for history, compassion in his heart, a desire to serve his fellow man, and a yearning to create a better future. Our fraternity welcomes adult men of every race, religion, income, education, national origin, and opinion, who are of good moral character and profess a belief in a Supreme Being. Through our degrees and ceremonies, the values of Freemasonry are passed from generation to generation, Mason to Mason, in a timeless and tireless effort to make good men better ones, all over the world. In an age when divisiveness and solitude are dramatically altering society, our mission today remains more vital than ever. Through our universal brotherhood, Masons learn to be better husbands, better fathers, better brothers, and better citizens. By appreciating our differences, we learn to focus on what unites Mankind. For this reason, discussion of divisive topics like religion, politics, and business is not permitted in our lodges. In this way, we continue the centuries-old purpose of our fraternity – to unite men of every country, sect, and opinion, and foster true friendship among those who otherwise would have remained at a perpetual distance. Every year, in virtually every city and town throughout Indiana and all around the globe, thousands of men join the ranks of Freemasonry. Each with a vow to be the best they can be. To be more than just a man.

The Axis Of Time
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
5-31-26

Time and death are the two great mysteries that accompany every human life...
Silent...
impartial...
and unstoppable...
they stand like invisible columns supporting the vast temple of our existence...
Masonry teaches that life is a continual building...
each day a stone...
each choice a tool...
each act a mark upon the inner temple...
Yet time is the unseen chisel shaping us...
and death the doorway through which every traveler must one day pass...
The ancient builders aligned their temples with the Sun...
knowing that time was not merely hours...
but a sacred rhythm revealing the order of the universe...
Sunrise spoke of beginnings...
sunset whispered of endings...
Thus the whole day became a lesson in our own journey...
In the Lodge...
the path from West to East mirrors this truth...
We enter from the shadows of unknowing...
and move toward the Light...
yet with each step of enlightenment...
we also draw nearer to the moment when our Earthly labor ends...
To the uninitiated...
death appears as a tragedy...
To the Mason...
it is a transition...
a threshold rather than a wall...
The true fear is not dying...
but reaching the end without ever discovering who we were meant to become...
Every blow upon the rough stone reminds us that time is limited...
Every meeting held is a page turned in the book of our days...
Every Brother who journeys to the Eternal East leaves behind a silent teaching...
the clock never stops...
If we knew how much time remained...
would we live differently...
Most would...
For humanity often lives as though immortal...
postponing dreams...
delaying purpose...
squandering hours that will never return...
Yet death walks beside us from the moment of birth...
not as an enemy...
but as a teacher...
The ancient symbol of the skull is not meant to terrify...
but to awaken...
It whispers that our names will one day fade...
our footsteps vanish...
our possessions pass to others...
What remains...
Not wealth...
Not titles...
Not ambition...
Only the work we leave in the hearts of others...
and the refinement of our own inner stone...
Thus the wise understand...
death is not found at the end of the road...
it accompanies every step...
And time...
far from being an adversary...
is the sacred instrument that prepares us for that final passage...
The true initiate neither resists time nor fears death...
He walks between them...
knowing that every moment is a tool...
every day an unrepeatable chance to draw nearer to the Light...
For when the Great Architect calls us to account...
the question will not be how long we lived...
but what we built with the time we were given...
And perhaps...
in that final moment...
we will discover that death is not the end of the axis of time...
but the beginning of a greater journey...
a path stretching toward the stars...
and the eternal mysteries of the Infinite East.

I have seen a number of times where people have done their best to link Masonry to this thing or that thing. Sometimes I will see comments from people saying that “That is not Masonry”. I want to take a moment to disagree.
Masonry is life. Yes I understand that there are Traditional Observance Lodges, and other Practices of the Craft. That is how Masonry is practiced in meetings.
What is Freemasonry really? How you live your life. Every single breath and heartbeat. How you apply the lessons taught into daily life.
I was at a church once and they had a sign above the door that said “You are now entering the mission field”. To me that was very profound. Is it any different for the Mason?
We are told to take the lessons inculcated with in the lodge out of the Lodge. To share our good graces with he world at large.
Do we sometimes fail at this task, of course we do. We are human, but that is part of the lesson. To know we are no different than those we serve and to love them just the same.
Knowledge with out milage is BS….and the highway of life has potholes and speedbumps.
I love you and may we govern ourselves accordingly

🏴‍☠️THE SKULL AND BONES OF THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR 💀⚔️

To the unlearned, the skull is a symbol of death.
To the Templar, it was a reminder of truth 💫

The Knights Templar marched into battle carrying not only swords and banners, but also a deep understanding that life is temporary, honor is eternal and every man will one day face the Great Judgment.

Many old Templar traditions and legends speak of skulls, bones, tombs and relics. These were never meant to glorify darkness, but to teach humility. A king and a beggar become equal beneath the earth. Wealth fades. Power disappears. Only virtue, duty and faith remain 👑

This is why medieval warriors and later fraternal orders used the skull as a symbol of mortality and awakening. It whispers the ancient lesson:

“Remember that you will die…therefore live honorably.”

In the initiatic traditions connected to chivalry and Freemasonry, the skull and crossed bones became symbols of reflection, rebirth, sacrifice and the stripping away of pride. Before a man can become enlightened, he must first confront his own mortality.

The Templar knight was expected to die before surrendering his principles. Not merely a soldier…but a guardian of discipline, secrecy, loyalty and spiritual courage ✨

Even today, the image of the skull and bones continues to appear in old churches, knightly tombs, Masonic chambers and Templar symbolism across Europe. It stands not for fear…but for awakening 👁️

Because the greatest battle is not against another man. It is against ignorance, ego and the darkness within oneself ⚔️💀

So mote it be!

Brother…

Freemasonry teaches us charity, patience, forgiveness, and sacrifice.

But nowhere does it teach a man to destroy himself trying to earn the respect of people who never valued him to begin with.

Too many good men spend years pouring loyalty into empty cups.

Giving more time.
More energy.
More forgiveness.
More chances.

Hoping eventually they’ll be appreciated.

But some people only notice your value once your presence is gone.

A working tool used without care eventually breaks.
And a man constantly drained by disrespect, manipulation, or indifference will too.

There comes a point where a man must stand upright, square his shoulders, and remember his own worth.

Not through anger.
Not through revenge.
But through absence.

Sometimes the strongest thing a man can do…

Is walk away from the table where his Brotherhood, effort, or loyalty is treated as disposable.

Protect your peace, Brother.

Not every battle deserves your energy.
Not every room deserves your presence.

And not everyone deserves continued access to a good man.
