Studio class. What exactly is it? Every week students meet with their respective instruments and/or voice to perform for one another and receive feedback from peers and professors. The UW Department of music is going to start featuring studios biweekly. Our first studio is the bassoons! Attending their studio was an amazing experience filled with good vibes and talented people! Thank you to Dr. Kaori Uno-Jack and her students for allowing me to enjoy studio class with you! On deck is the trombone studio! Who would like to be featured next? 🤔🤔

Dr. John Fadial, head of strings, and Dr. Jiwon
Han, assistant professor of piano, had the opportunity to record two warhorses on their respective instruments. Dr. Fadial shared “Ottorino Respighi, who penned Pines of Rome and other great orchestral works, and Richard Strauss, who is remembered for his large-scale tone poems (Also Spracht Zarathustra, Don Juan) and operas (Salome, Capriccio), each wrote one sonata for Violin and Piano.
The works were recorded in the BCPA Recital Hall and were made possible with generous support from the UW
College of Arts & Sciences.”
