🐂 What's under the hide? Carcass ultrasound lets you see muscle and fat on a live animal, the same information Wyoming producers use to make breeding and marketing decisions.

Through 4-H Technology, Wyoming 4-H youth get hands-on with that technology, learning to read the scan and understand what it means for their animals.

💛 Your gift to 4-H Technology on UW Giving Day, Oct. 21–22, noon to noon, helps bring carcass ultrasound to Wyoming 4-H.

🤖 It started with Legos. Now this Wyoming 4-H member is building a robot that can find another robot and flip it.

In 4-H robotics, Wyoming 4-H youth code and build their own robots, testing wheels, attachments and sensors with instructors guiding the way.

💛 Your support matters. This is what you make possible when you give to 4-H Technology on UW Giving Day, Oct. 21–22, noon to noon.

🤠 "I'm not afraid of work, but this was a different kind of push."

That's how one Ranch Camp participant described a week on working Wyoming ranches, learning sheep, beef and grazing management from producers who are putting big ideas to work on their own land.

💛 Protecting Wyoming's future means protecting ranching. Your gift to Ranch Camp on UW Giving Day, Oct. 21–22, noon to noon, helps train the people who will carry it forward.

After 51 years of serving Wyoming through University of Wyoming Extension, our very own Mary Martin is retiring. 💛

Mary spent much of her Extension career serving University of Wyoming Extension-Teton County , where she helped turn community needs into practical programs, partnerships and educational opportunities. Her work included major efforts focused on families, community development and strengthening local Extension programming.

Across more than five decades, she helped turn ideas into impact through education, relationships and a deep commitment to the people Extension serves.

As Mary put it:
“Look at each new day as an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to the people that we’re working with.”
Thank you, Mary, for your dedication to Wyoming and to the Extension mission. We wish you all the best in retirement!

🎓 Great Extension work starts with people who understand Wyoming and its communities.

As a University of Wyoming graduate student, Peyton Loss built relationships with ranchers, tribal water leaders and community members on the Wind River Indian Reservation through her research and outreach.

Now, she’s continuing that work as a UW Extension educator, bringing her experience and knowledge to agriculture, natural resources and 4-H programming in the Wind River community.

Peyton’s path is one example of how UW Extension connects university knowledge, strong educators and local relationships to serve communities across Wyoming.

🤔 What world record did Wh***ey Peak set in 1988?

Rising 9,220 feet above central Wyoming, Wh***ey Peak is an iconic part of the Green Mountains near Muddy Gap.

📍Driving US 287 toward Lander? Look west between Muddy Gap and Jeffrey City. Beyond the unmistakable Ferris Mountains, Wh***ey Peak is one of the most prominent peaks you’ll see.

Its views and wildlife habitat aren’t the only things that make this peak noteworthy. It also has a pretty remarkable place in hang-gliding history. 🪂

🎥 Watch Exploring Wh***ey Peak to find out what happened here in 1988.

Have you ever explored Wh***ey Peak or the Green Mountains?
