Meet Diana, representing our first cohort! With a background in higher education and a passion for supporting others, Diana brings a commitment to helping individuals build confidence, overcome barriers, and navigate their academic and personal journeys.

To learn more about Diana:

I’m Diana, and I graduated from TAMIU in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. My professional background has been in higher education, where I’ve held multiple roles, including leadership roles focused on developing student mental health initiatives and mentorship roles that have allowed me to help individuals overcome barriers throughout their academic journey. Through these experiences, I’ve seen how a little guidance and support can make a significant impact in a person’s life. My goal is to help individuals build confidence, advocate for themselves, and learn to navigate the occasional “what am I doing?” moments that come with life.

This would be another post for Su***de Prevention Month: September is Su***de Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness, encourage open conversations, and remind one another that support is available. Listening with compassion and creating a safe space to talk can make a meaningful difference.

For 24/7 crisis support related to mental health, su***de, substance use, or emotional distress, call or text 988 or visit 988lifeline.org to connect with a trained crisis counselor. Crisis text support is also available by texting NAMI to 741741.

There is help, and there is hope.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Let’s take this time to honor our heritage, learn from one another, and celebrate the diversity, traditions, and experiences that make our communities stronger. May we continue to recognize and celebrate the lasting impact of Hispanic and Latino communities throughout the year.

Talking about su***de isn’t harmful — silence is. One honest, caring conversation can save a life. Start a conversation. Be the difference.
