Frederick Guerrero is a senior here at the New Mexico State University (NMSU) College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Biochemistry and recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Undergraduate Award for Excellence, an honor recognizing outstanding graduating seniors. Throughout his undergraduate career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, earning multiple placements on the Dean’s List and graduating with University Honors with Distinction. His goal is to become a physician, a path he is beginning through hands-on clinical experience as a medical assistant in a primary care setting. In addition to his academic achievements, Frederick is an accomplished percussionist who performed with the NMSU Jazz Ensemble and was awarded the Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Society Bob Burns Scholarship, which recognizes a commitment to the education and performance of jazz and blues music. Upon graduation, Frederick plans to attend medical school and pursue a career dedicated to compassionate, patient centered surgical care.
