Master’s degree or master’s + 18 graduate credit hours in the subject:
Anatomy & Physiology, Art, Biology, Communication, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Education, Geography, Geology, Legal & Ethical Issues in Healthcare, Mathematics, Music, Nutrition, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, and Theater.

Associate’s degree or industry certification + 5 years of experience:
Aerospace Technology, Architectural Technology, Automation & Manufacturing Technology, Electronics Technology, Environmental Energy Technology, and Mechanical Drafting & Solid Modeling.

Additional program-specific qualifications:
• Architecture — Master’s in Architecture + 3 years professional experience
• Civil Surveying Technology — Bachelor’s in Surveying Technology or related field, licensure + 3 years experience
• Computer Information Technology — Bachelor’s in related field
• Developmental English — Master of Arts, preferably in English
• Developmental Math — Bachelor’s degree with significant mathematics credits
• EMT/EMS — New Mexico instructor certification
• Nursing — Bachelor’s degree + nursing licensure
• Radiologic Technology — Associate’s degree + licensure
• Respiratory Therapy — Associate’s degree + licensure

DACC's technical programs are taught by people who did the work.

Aerospace Technology. Architectural Technology. Automation & Manufacturing Technology. Electronics Technology. Environmental Energy Technology. Mechanical Drafting & Solid Modeling.

Every one of those programs needs instructors, and the credential requirement is built for people coming out of industry, not out of a doctoral program. An associate's degree in the field, or an industry certification, plus 5 years of experience puts you on a qualifying path.

What teaching adds: you set the standard for the next group coming into your trade, and you do it on a part-time appointment that sits alongside the job you already have. [VERIFY: confirm the schedule patterns available — evening, online, hybrid — and the typical number of sections offered to a new adjunct in a first semester before stating these as facts]

🥫 FirstLight Comfort Casita Fall Hours

The FirstLight Comfort Casita Food Pantry at DACC will reopen for the Fall 2026 semester on Wednesday, August 19!

🍎 Fall Hours | August 19–December 11
Tuesday: 2–6 p.m.
Wednesday: 1–5 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m.–12 p.m.

To use the Comfort Casita, students must:
• Be enrolled in at least one DACC course or DACC Adult Education course for Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027
• Bring a student ID
• Bring a reusable bag
