📢 Nominate an outstanding alum for the James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service by May 15!
Each year, the NMSU Foundation celebrates the Distinguished Alumni Awards during Homecoming, and the most prestigious of these is the ✨ James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service ✨
The JFC award recognizes the highest levels of exceptional, progressive service to New Mexico State University through dedicated involvement with the university, notable professional accomplishments, and impactful civic service within their communities. Recent JFC awardees have included Gabe Anaya ’59, Barbara “Mother” Hubbard ’70, and Charles “Charlie” Johnson ’61.
In 2025, the JFC awardee was NMSU Regents Professor Cynthia Bejarano ’95, ’97, Ph.D., who, among many other achievements, established the NMSU College Assistance Migrant Program (NMSU CAMP), co-founded Amigos de las Mujeres de Juárez, and has received myriad awards including the Governor’s Award for Outstanding New Mexico Women. ✨
