June is here and so is the love. Every year our students and staff show up, show out and march together because being seen matters and so does showing up for each other.

Three years ago, Gary Cozad moved to Nevada looking for a fresh start. Today, he's an EMT program valedictorian, a firefighter academy grad, and heading into CSN's Paramedic Medicine Program this fall.

The road here wasn't easy. Gary has been open about his struggles with addiction and the years it took to find his footing. What helped him turn the corner? Faith, determination, and a little help from CSN's Resilient for Nevada program, which covered his tuition, uniforms, and textbooks so he could focus on what mattered.

Now he's paying it forward, mentoring others who are walking the same road he once did.

CSN alum Hisonni Johnson just became the first community college student EVER to win a Directors Guild of America Student Spotlight Award — taking home the Best Documentary Student Filmmaker Grand Prize for the West Region.
His film, Legend Has It: The Remarkable Rise of Stephen McCain, will screen at the DGA theater in Los Angeles on June 18.

Chelsea is transforming the skills she gained in the military into a meaningful civilian career. With access to benefits, tutoring, and strong support systems at CSN, she’s found purpose again and encourages others to take advantage of every opportunity available.
