Founded more than 35 years ago, Galen College of Nursing is one of the largest private nursing schools in the United States, with more than 44,000 graduates. With a focus solely on nursing education and a mission to expand access to nursing education, the College offers masters, baccalaureate and associate degree education and practical/vocational nursing (PN/VN) programs to more than 18,000 stude

Galen College of Nursing (Galen) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees. Nadia Atkinson is a BSN student whose drive, compassion, and determination continue to shine throughout her nursing school journey. With a strong support system behind her and big goals ahead, Nadia stays focused on growing both personally and professionally every step of the way.

A few of Nadia’s favorites:

🩺 Clinical must-have: Her trifold clipboard packed with quick-reference clinical information
💭 Personal motto: Proverbs 13:4 — “The diligent is fully satisfied.”
🤝 Favorite part of being a student ambassador: Helping students with study tips and connecting with new faces during orientation

Nadia's biggest inspiration is her mom, whose hard work and determination motivate her daily. Watching her mom return to college while supporting their family has shown Nadia that it’s never too late to chase your dreams and work toward your goals.

We are so thankful to have Nadia as part of the Galen family. Her heart for helping others, dedication to growth, and positive influence on fellow students make her such a valued part of our community. 💙

Our upgraded scrubs feature a premium stretch fabric blend that moves with you, moisture-wicking technology to keep you comfortable throughout long days, and practical features like cargo pockets, a cellphone pocket, a badge loop, and a comfort waistband.

Current ceil blue scrubs will remain approved through the start of the April 2027 term to help make the transition easier for our students who already have them.

✨ Student Spotlight: Nicole Sierra ✨

Nicole Sierra is a BSN student who brings positivity, determination, and encouragement everywhere she goes. From balancing the demands of nursing school to supporting those around her, Nicole approaches every part of her journey with passion and purpose.

A few of Nicole’s favorites:
☕ Favorite local spot: Phin Smiths for her favorite Vietnamese coffee
📚 Study tip: Plan out each week by subject and make time for breaks and movement
🩺 Clinical must-have: A pocket notebook and pens to keep track of important information
💭 Personal motto: “Everything happens for a reason. Trust the process and keep moving forward.”

One thing Nicole loves most about Galen is the support she has received from faculty throughout the program. She shared that professors have continuously gone above and beyond by offering enrichments, study materials, and extra time to help students feel prepared and confident.

Nicole also enjoys serving as a student ambassador because it gives her the opportunity to encourage others through the challenges of nursing school. Whether it’s sharing advice, offering reassurance, or simply being someone students can lean on, she loves helping make the journey feel a little less overwhelming.

Fueled by the inspiration of her large, close-knit family, Nicole continues to push herself to succeed while setting an example for those around her. We are so thankful to have Nicole as part of the Galen family and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes in healthcare. 💙

Meet Sawitree Nelson, an ADN student graduating in June 2026 whose compassion, resilience, and determination continue to inspire those around her. Through every challenge of nursing school, Sawitree has remained focused on growth and balance while supporting fellow students along the way.

Sawitree says one of the hardest habits she had to build in nursing school was time management and consistent studying. By learning to stay organized and prioritize self-care alongside school and family life, she found a rhythm that helped her stay motivated and successful.

As a student ambassador, Sawitree loves sharing study tips, encouragement, and resources with classmates who may feel overwhelmed.

We are so thankful to have Sawitree as part of the Galen family. Her kindness, encouragement, and willingness to lift others up embody what it means to support one another through the nursing school journey. 💙
