UNLV Economics Club

UNLV Economics Club The UNLV Economics Club is open to UNLV students interested in learning more about Economics and the opportunities available to those who study economics.

Our mission is to make the UNLV economics community the best that it can be by making them more skilled, knowledgeable, and plugged than ever before. We do this by helping economics students and alumni increase and broaden their skill sets as well as network as they move forward in their academic and business careers involving economics. In order to make our members the best that they can be in ec

onomics we focus on three main areas: training, application, and networking, or T.A.N. Training: We help train our club members in programs such as SQL, SAS, Stata and other related programs. We also train them how to obtain a job through teaching them how to write resumes, cover letters, and how to prepare for a job interview. Application: We bring in businesses like Pinnacle, Sands, Quicken Loans, and others to talk about how they use economics in their companies. We also have Brookings Institution scholars discuss with our members about their research and how they use it in their public policy recommendations. Networking: We connect with businesses, Brookings Scholars, alumni, and others to help foster communications and bring people together to create network externalities.

Join us this Thursday, December 1, for our last Economics Club meeting of the semester. We'll be in SRWC 1020 (a.k.a. the gym) at 7 pm. Rhiannon Gladney will be there to tell us about how her economics degree has helped her start her own company. And she just graduated last spring!

We will also be holding special elections for a few Executive Board seats for spring 2017. The time commitment for board members is minimal, so come to the meeting and find out about this opportunity to polish your leadership skills and boost your resume!

And as always, we'll have pizza and drinks. =D Hope to see you there!
