KU Sigma Psi Zeta - Alpha Mu Chapter Sigma Psi Zeta is a multicultural progressive Greek organization. We are a cultural, social, educational, and community-service oriented sorority.

Sigma Psi Zeta is a progressive multicultural Greek organization. Sigma Psi Zeta was founded on March 23, 1994 and incorporated on March 15, 1996. We are recognized under the laws of the state of New York. Like the 10 founders, the 10 Rays of Sisterhood form the basis of our sorority. They are characteristics all sisters work to best exemplify: integrity, legacy, scholarship, philanthropy, professionalism, community, sisterhood, culture, citizenship, activism.

This month is all about celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in all its varied forms. We celebrate the many identities, experiences, and stories that make up the LGBTQ+ community, and we stand with those who continue to advocate for inclusion, acceptance, and human rights. Happy April! Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is a time to raise awareness, support survivors, and stand together to prevent sexual violence, a fight that is crucial to SYZ. This year, we honor 25 years of SAAM, a quarter of a century of uniting survivors, advocates, and communities in the fight to reduce and prevent sexual violence. SAAM is about fostering conversations around consent, respect, and accountability while building safer, more supportive communities for everyone. Take care of one another.

Eid al-Fitr marks the joyful close of Ramadan—a time of reflection, gratitude, and spiritual growth. It’s a celebration of faith, generosity, and togetherness, where hearts are full, homes are lively, and loved ones gather to share blessings, laughter, and delicious food. 🌙✨ 🕌 We hope everyone has a wonderful Ramadan, and may this Eid bring peace, happiness, and new beginnings to all!

🌙 Nabihah “MURaSAKï” Syed: My family and I wake up early Eid morning to shower, dress up, and go to the masjid for prayers. We usually also tidy up around the house the day before. Throughout the day, we spend time together, exchange gifts, eat yummy food (well-deserved after a long month of fasting ;)), and celebrate another successful Ramadan! Though Eid is three days long, we usually celebrate the first day and carry on the other two. !عيد مبارك
