In 2023, Allen County first responders trained with KFRTI in grain engulfment rescue. In 2025, those first responders saved Joey Berntsen's life. His rescue changed how fire departments across the county prepare for grain emergencies, and KFRTI continues to update its training, including with a new rescue simulator. Thanks to these organizations for their incredible efforts: Iola Fire Department Allen County Rural Volunteer Fire Department - Kansas Allen County Farm Bureau Association - Kansas Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department Allen County Sheriff's Office, Moran Marmaton-Osage Volunteer FD, La Harpe and Colony.

Camp Fury KC normally takes place the second week of June. However, due to the World Cup in Kansas City, it was necessary to move this to the end of July for 2026.
