🎉 Please join us in welcoming Dr. Yuxiang Liu to the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology!

Dr. Yuxiang Liu earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Hainan Normal University before completing his Ph.D. in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. He trained as a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he was promoted to Instructor, and later relocated his laboratory to UCLA.

Dr. Liu’s research focuses on the genetic and circadian regulation of neocortical development, with the goal of advancing therapeutic strategies for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, intellectual disability, and ADHD through multidisciplinary approaches that integrate single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing, bioinformatics, confocal imaging, immunostaining, in situ hybridization, and behavioral analyses in both transgenic mouse and human iPSC models.

Dr. Liu will begin his work at KU on March 16, 2026.
