Whatever your group wants to study, we can make it happen! This group's focus was "emerging technologies." Their real-world learning included behind-the-scenes visits to two global technology companies: Panasonic Energy and Garmin International!

Here's what you should know:

🗓 One Day One KU will run from noon to noon Tuesday, April 28, to Wednesday, April 29.

There are a bunch, but here is one of our favorites: From 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, in Lawrence - Furthest Gift Power Hour: $1,000 for receiving the furthest gift between 4-5 p.m. wins $1,000 in bonus funds! So, for example, that would be 5-6 a.m. on Wednesday for Perth and Hong Kong, 4-5 a.m. on Wednesday for Jakarta. Have an international friend who could help? Please reach out.

Last week wrapped up the KU experience of four fellows from CRDF Global--a nonprofit organization that promotes international security, safety, and sustainability. The fellows, Azra Habibija Ražanica from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Drenusha Salihu from Kosovo, Ivana Tatar from Montenegro, and Daniela Andrović from Serbia, spent their time on campus with mentors across KU Information Technology (KU IT), KU Center for Cyber-Social Dynamics, and KU Medical Center Information Technology (KUMC IT). They had the opportunity to shadow operations, meet with staff, learn about their work and operations, and observe some KU cybersecurity and law courses.
Next they will head to Washington D.C to meet up with other CRDF Global fellows for professional programing. The foursome was hosted in partnership with the University of Kansas’s International Short Programs. International Short Programs designs and delivers short-term, customized educational and cultural programs for international groups visiting KU’s Lawrence campus.

We are so excited to be host 4 cybersecurity fellows this March here at KU. We can't wait to help connect them with the fantastic cybersecurity resources and expertise we have here and in our community. If you are interested in learning more about or connecting with our visiting fellows, please let us know!

🚨 Calling U.S. Cybersecurity Leaders, Universities, Think Tanks, and Innovators 🚨
CRDF Global is currently engaging U.S. host institutions for the 2026 Regional Cybersecurity Fellowship, a U.S. Department of State–funded program bringing 16 exceptional mid-career cybersecurity professionals from the Western Balkans and Moldova to the United States in March–April 2026.

This three-week fellowship places fellows with host institutions in Boston, Denver, Lawrence (KS), and Seattle, where they collaborate directly with U.S. experts on issues such as:
🔹 Cybersecurity policy and regulatory frameworks
🔹 Incident response and crisis management
🔹 Threat intelligence and information sharing
🔹 Workforce development and digital resilience

Why host a fellow?
Host institutions gain:
✔️ A highly skilled international professional embedded with your team
✔️ Fresh regional and policy perspectives on shared cyber challenges
✔️ Long-term institutional connections across Europe and the United States
✔️ A chance to directly support U.S. foreign policy objectives through capacity building and trusted partnerships

Fellows arrive prepared, English-proficient, and eager to contribute—whether through research, policy analysis, program development, or operational collaboration. Following the fellowship, participants continue working on capstone projects with lasting regional impact, often in partnership with their U.S. hosts.
