AAPG - KU Student Chapter KU's Chapter of AAPG was founded in 2007. We strive scientific excellence in areas of geology relate

The KU AAPG Student Chapter welcomes all interested in petroleum geology, related fields (including environmental and alternative energy industries), and anyone who want to find out more! We plan a number of events throughout the year including social events, attendance to the annual AAPG conference, fundraisers, outreach, and hopefully field trips in the future. Undergraduates, grad students, faculty, and everyone else are welcome and encouraged to participate!

Two members of the AAPG Student Chapter traveled to Lincoln, NE to attend the Fourth Biennial Field Conference of the AAPG Mid-Continent Section. Accompanied by Emeritus Professor Dr. Paul Enos, the conference title covered Carboniferous cyclothems of North America. The group had the opportunity to take a close look at the Indian Cave Sandstone in eastern/south eastern Nebraska. They also saw a first time screening of the motion picture "Rock Stars: Women in Petroleum Geology, introduced by keynote speaker Robbie Gries. The meeting concluded by a sponsored AAPG UNL Student Chapter breakfast and a core workshop.
