CU Engineering and Applied Mathematics Summer Academy A summer academy for motivated and talented high school students residing in Oklahoma who are interested in Engineering and Applied Mathematics.

The CU Engineering and Applied Mathematics Summer Academy hosts a 7 day residential experience for high school students. The academy is competitive, selecting 20 high school students and 4 high school junior counselors yearly. Junior counselors must apply and must have attended this academy in the past. The academy introduced them to principles of various engineering disciplines including mathemat

ics and relative science needed in problem solving and design activities. The academy’s primary goal is to provide high school students with enrichment programs and attract them to STEM related fields. Students will engage in hands-on activities in STEM including a team design and build contest! This academy has partnered with Fort Sill, NASA, Oklahoma EPSCoR, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Walmart, Optimist Club, Raytheon, Cotton Electric and others to expose students to possible Engineering and Applied Math career opportunities with the government and private industry. This academy is grant funded and it is free to all participants.
