Chicks Have Arrived!✨🐣

Our YMCA after-school students have loved following the chick hatching process over the past few weeks! From observing the eggs each day to watching the first pip and hatch, their excitement and curiosity grew with every step🤩

Today, students had the chance to gently hold the chicks and practice proper handling them and they did an AMAZING job! So many brave moments and big smiles as they met their fluffy new friends🐥

This hands-on experience sparked curiosity about life cycles, animal care, and where our food comes from—learning brought to life in the best way!

A big THANK YOU to our Le Mars Area Family YMCA partners for helping make this experience possible. We love bringing educational opportunities like this to our youth!💛

Chick Update from Mrs. Reuter’s 3rd Grade!✨🐣
LCSD Bulldogs

Today was the moment everyone has been waiting for… we got to meet and hold our baby chicks! The students did an amazing job taking turns and learning how to properly and gently handle them💛

We also learned that these chicks will be heading home with local 4-H members, where they’ll be cared for and continue to grow—such a special connection to agriculture and responsibility!🌱🐓

Over the past four weeks, it has been incredible watching the students learn about the chicken life cycle. Their excitement truly peaked this last week as they saw the eggs begin to pip and the chicks work their way out of the shells—what an amazing process to witness!🤩

A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Reuter for welcoming us into her classroom and for taking such great care of the incubator to help make this a successful hatch!👍🏼

🍀 If your child is interested in joining 4-H please message us or call our office, 712-546-7835 🍀

🐣Chick Hatching – Week 3 Update!🐣

This week, in partnership with the Le Mars Area Family YMCA and Kluckhohn Elementary LCSD Bulldogs, we got busy preparing for our chicks’ big arrival… by building them a brand new “home”!🏡✨

With just 4 days to go, the excitement is building as we get closer to meeting our baby chicks!🐥💛

We also candled our eggs again to check on their progress—watching those healthy, growing chicks develop has been such an amazing hands-on learning experience for everyone involved.

This has truly been such a fun and educational journey, and we can’t wait for what’s next… hatch day is almost here! 🙌

Stay tuned for chick arrivals!! 🐣🎉
