Northwestern State University offices will be closed for the holiday break from December 22, 2025 through January 2, 2026.

We will reopen and resume normal operations on January 5, 2026.

🎓 A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jennifer Shaw and the Gowns for Grads program! 🎓

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Shaw, the Louisiana Title IV-E Program, and the Department of Social Work for creating and sustaining Gowns for Grads, a program that truly opens doors for our students. Last week, Gowns for Grads proudly provided gowns for service members participating in the Fort Polk Graduation Ceremony, helping make graduation day possible and meaningful.

Gowns for Grads offers free rentals of caps, gowns, and additional regalia like tassels, cords, and stoles. This donation-based program continues to grow thanks to the generosity of NSU students, alumni, and our community.

We sincerely appreciate all donations and monetary contributions. With your continued support, we can help ensure that every NSU student has the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments on graduation day. 💜🎓

We’re proud to support an event where 100% of the proceeds went directly to veterans and their families across Louisiana. 💜🇺🇸

Sweatshirts and cocoa were given away as part of our fall Deck the Halls campus event to keep students cozy, caffeinated, and prepared for finals!

Northwestern State University Leesville Campus donated non-perishable food items to the Fort Polk Food Pantry today, thanks to contributions from our students during the New to You T-Shirt Market!

During the New to You Market event, students could donate a non-perishable food item in exchange for a free NSU T-shirt. When organizing the event, the Student Campus Council chose to donate the non-perishable items to the Fort Polk Main Post Chapel Food Pantry to help support our Fort Polk community.
