Proud of our MCHP Radiography 2024 graduate, Elise!
There’s more to X-ray than you might realize, and for Elise Bentley, Radiologic Technologist II at St. Mary’s, that’s part of what makes the work so interesting.
“It’s different every single day,” Elise said. “We see patients with a variety of needs come through. It keeps it exciting and engaging.”
X-ray is woven into care across St. Mary’s. Elise and the team work closely with the Emergency Department, provide imaging for patients receiving outpatient care and support procedures in the operating room. During surgery, X-ray technologists can provide intraoperative imaging, giving surgeons a real-time view that helps guide their work.
“A lot of people don’t know that we go to the OR,” Elise said. “It’s one of my favorite spots.”
Elise joined St. Mary’s shortly after graduating from her radiologic technology program in 2024 and will celebrate two years here next month. She says getting to work with people throughout the hospital, along with the relationships she has built within her own department, has made St. Mary’s a great place to begin her career.
“I love my coworkers. We have a really great team,” she said. “I like the staff everywhere. Everyone is friendly, and it makes it fun.”
