presents the film "David Hockney: A Bigger Picture"
Join producer and director Bruno Wollheim for discussion following the film on Tuesday, September 28 at 4:30 p.m. in the Olin Arts Center, Room 105, admission is free and refreshments will be served following the discussion.

Filmed over three years, this documentary captures David Hockney’s return from

California to paint the Yorkshire landscape of his childhood. He re-invents his

painting from scratch, working through the seasons and in all weathers out in the

countryside—and makes the largest picture ever painted outdoors. It is at once the

story of a homecoming and a revealing portrait of what inspires and motivates one of Britain’s greatest living artists as time runs out.

female painter Artemisia Gentileschi’s dramatic art and life. At a
crossroads, feeling stuck directing empty reality television, Weissbrod
determines to take a risk and make her own documentary. Mysteriously
denied permission to film the once-in-a-lifetime retrospective of
Artemisia and her father Orazio at the St. Louis Art Museum, Weissbrod
dons a spy camera and “goes undercover” secretly filming the
exhibition. But then what? How does she tell Artemisia’s compelling,
complicated story?
