⭐️ Shining a light on Miss Kalynn! ⭐️

Kalynn joined our team this summer as an occupational therapy technician. She brings so much FUN and positivity to our team.

Kalynn is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of North Texas and plans to attend Occupational Therapy school to become a pediatric occupational therapist. She is passionate about helping children build confidence, reach milestones, and achieve small victories that can lead to life-changing progress!

Outside of school and work, Kalynn is an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and enjoys volunteering at her church. In her free time, she loves working out, reading, golfing, spending time at the lake, and hanging out with her cat, Nico.

Her favorite part about working at Thrive n Play is the endless opportunities to build connections with children and families while also gaining experience in the field she loves.

🤍To know Miss Katie is to love her. 🤍 We are celebrating Miss Katie’s THREE years of service at Thrive n Play. Katie brings a daily positive attitude, calming presence, and an insane amount of talent and creativity to our team. She keeps us organized and laughing. She is such a big part of the culture of Thrive n Play. We are so grateful she is one of ours. She’s also the reason our chalk board is always top notch! We love you Katie and are so glad you’re here. Next week is Katie’s last week with us for a while (we don’t want to talk about it). She will be transitioning to her second clinical internship as part of her doctoral degree. Be sure to give her extra hugs and keep her in your prayers as she dives deep into her pediatric OT clinical these next 3 months. She’s going to do great!

We are looking for a new team member to support our families Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Applicant must have PM availability to 1-5pm on these days, but full days are preferred. This is an entry-level healthcare position, ideal for prospective therapy students!

We are SO PROUD of two members of our Thrive n Play family who graduated this weekend! Please help us celebrate our Miss Hannah who earned her clinical doctorate of OT and Miss Kayla who completed her Masters of Child Life. We pray the Lord continues to bless their paths and open the doors meant for them!

Hi, Autumn here—

I have autism. What I want to tell people who love someone with Autism is this; that experiencing the world differently and having unique challenges is an inherent part of my life, but not bad. It can feel hard – hitting milestones late and other challenges that came with me having Autism are something I still experience. And I am surrounded by support that has made all the difference to me. It isn’t always easy, but I also have unique strengths! Learning I had Autism allowed me to understand myself… understand I wasn’t stupid, slow, or that I needed to morph myself into someone else. To understand that it’s okay that things take me longer and getting to where I am now did not happen quickly. I have had different experiences and understanding how my brain and body experience the world has helped me so much. I am so grateful for places like Thrive N Play that work to amplify that support while also affirming and amplifying voices. I feel my lived experience with Autism has added to my compassion for those with Autism as well as other disabilities for all support levels.

Happy Autism Awareness and Acceptance month!
