Wildcat Service Dogs

Wildcat Service Dogs Students at the University of Kentucky raising, training, and educating the public about service dogs.

Please direct all questions to [email protected] Wildcat Service Dogs (WSD) is a student-run organization at the University of Kentucky that strives to raise, train, and educate the public about service dogs. Student members are selected as sitters and/or trainers after completing a training course and an evaluation. Sitters are able to watch and handle any of our program dogs in public

. Trainers will go through a more rigorous selection and basic training process prior to receiving a puppy. Once selected, trainers are responsible for training, socializing, partial financing, and housing of the dog for the first 10-12 months of its life. They are also required to attend weekly training sessions and bi-weekly socialization outings. Our current partner is Paws with Purpose (PwP), a non-profit organization based in Louisville, KY that provides highly skilled assistance dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities or other special needs.
