“Here’s the real-life, street-level issue: if you don’t keep the eyes of your heart focused on the paradise that is to come, you will try to turn this poor fallen world into the paradise it will never be.” - PDT

So good. I pray as this holiday season gets rolling that each of us would remember: THIS. IS. NOT. OUR. HOME. Worship the Giver. Enjoy His good and perfect gifts. Be grateful. AND NEVER forget that this is not all there is.

One of my all time favorites. Such a reminder to avoid over complicating things.

📜 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

Jesus, the light of the world and God with Us, is born this day! Praying that each of you experience all the blessings of the season and a closeness to God that leads you into 2025 with an unshakable peace.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬, NIV‬‬

We worship Jesus as our King because He has “all authority on heaven and earth” (Matthew 28:18-20). We worship Jesus as our God because “through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3). And we worship Jesus as our Savior because “God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

“When she stood at the foot of the cross as her Son was crucified, Mary must have had to rehearse every memory she had of God’s faithfulness so she could continue believing in the promise of Jesus’ resurrection. In her greatest moment of pain, she had a collection of proof that God would do what He promised.” - Advent: The Journey to Christmas

O that we would store up, ponder and rehearse Gods faithfulness so that when we don’t readily see Him, we still KNOW He is with us and He is good.

We need to remember that Jesus has bridged the gap between us and God. He is God’s answer to our desire for a burning bush or a mountaintop conversation with Him. We don’t worship a distant God who doesn’t want to speak to us. Jesus has restored our relationship with Him and made a way for us to daily approach His throne with boldness. - Advent: The Journey to Christmas

Praising Him for showing up in my own life this very morning with the promise of ALL He is and a reminder of the perfect love, truth and grace He brings for eternity AND moment by moment.

“On Christmas morning, the son with all of these wonderful titles was born. Not in a palace or castle, but in a humble, ordinary manger. When we look at the life of Jesus, we see Him consistently model these qualities. He supported and advised people with questions. He stood strong in the face of threats and temptations. He cared deeply for everyone He met. And Jesus gave His life to restore peace between God and humanity for eternity.
Jesus is a Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace.” - Today’s YouVersion Verse of the Day

It’s Advent Season! This piece of art reminds me that the problem Jesus came to solve started in the garden of Eden. God starts the story of Christmas way back in Genesis 3 when He makes a promise that sin and death will not win the war for His creation.
