Thank you to all who joined us for our Sustainability Symposium last night! This event celebrated the accomplishments of our sustainability interns and recognized the first group of Student Excellence in Sustainability award recipients.

Special thanks to our speaker, Justin Mog, for his engaging talk on using community radio to tell stories of hope.

Looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Our Sustainability Interns went to Campus Woods recently to explore the warehouse and sawmill site!

The University of Kentucky is home to over 12,000 trees, and when a tree is removed from campus, it is taken to Campus Woods. Campus Woods is a program that provides students with access to campus-sourced lumber to be used in the classroom. This program ensures trees felled at the University of Kentucky are utilized to the highest degree. 🌳

Passionate about climate communication? Organizing events? We’re hiring an intern to support the Kentucky Climate Consortium in their efforts to make reliable and relevant information about the climate accessible to all Kentuckians. 🌏♻️

Ideal candidates will have experience or interest in learning how to communicate about scientific topics, write website content, and manage event logistics!

Interns are paid $15.55/hour for 8-10 hours of work per week.

Did you know that UK is home to over twelve thousand trees?🌲 When a tree falls on campus, it is taken to Campus Woods so that students can repurpose the wood in a classroom setting! 🪵

Campus Woods is seeking a student intern for the 2026-2027 school year who can help support kiln loading and unloading, lumber labeling, and kiln monitoring. Interns will also have the opportunity to create an independent project that will advance sustainability initiatives at Campus Woods!

Interns are paid $15.55/hour for 8-10 hours of work per week.
