We had an incredibly busy and fun-filled day today! ๐ŸŽ‰

We started the morning by visiting the local radio station to record information about some of our upcoming events. A huge thank you to Noah Yates, Coy Yates, and June Yates for joining me and helping spread the word about all the exciting things happening in 4-H! ๐Ÿ“ป๐Ÿ’š

After that, we headed to Imagination Station, where we read The Dairy Godmother: Chuckโ€™s Ice Cream Wish to the kiddos. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ„ The children had a blast making thumbprint cows, and each one received their very own I โค๏ธ 4-H sticker and coloring book to take home. They also got to enjoy some delicious ice cream! ๐Ÿฆ

Noah, Coy, and June were a tremendous help today, assisting both me at both the radio station and Imagination station. Thank you all for your hard work and willingness to serve within 4-H. Yโ€™all are awesome, and we appreciate you so much! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธโœจ Today, 14 youth joined us for Wick & Wax: 4-H Candle Camp and had a blast! Participants got hands-on experience creating their very own candles, lip balms, and bath salts while learning new skills and expressing their creativity. It was a fun-filled day of crafting, learning, and making memories. We are so proud of all their hard work and canโ€™t wait to see what they create next! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€

Parents can help shape their childโ€™s healthy eating habits by making nutritious choices themselves. Choosing fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods at home sets a strong example and can encourage children to build healthy eating patterns that last. ๐Ÿฅฆ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒ

1. Small choices each dayโ€”like eating well, staying active, and getting enough sleepโ€”can make a big difference for the whole family.

2. Create routines that support better eating, more movement, and overall well-being for everyone in your household.

3. Simple everyday actions can help your family build a strong foundation for lifelong wellness.

4. Take it one step at a time by making time for nutritious meals, physical activity, and family wellness each day.

๐Ÿฅ›๐Ÿฆ This morning, 4-H had a great time reading to the older group at Imagination Station! We read Tales of a Dairy Godmother: Chuckโ€™s Ice Cream Wish and learned all about the journey of ice creamโ€”from the farm to the freezerโ€”and the hard work it takes to make this delicious treat possible.

The kiddos also got to create their own milk fireworks and enjoyed a sweet treat by eating their very own ice cream cup! ๐Ÿจ To top it all off, each child went home with a dairy coloring book and an โ€œI โค๏ธ 4-Hโ€ sticker.

A big thank you to Imagination Station for having us! We had so much fun and canโ€™t wait to visit the younger group on Thursday! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ„โœจ

๐ŸŒฑ Happy National Forage Week! ๐ŸŒฑ

Healthy forages start with healthy soils. One of the most important tools producers can use to improve pasture and hay production is a soil test. Soil testing provides valuable information about nutrient levels and soil pH, helping producers make informed fertilizer and lime decisions that can improve forage yield, quality, and profitability.

By understanding what's happening beneath the surface, you can maximize forage production, reduce unnecessary input costs, and support long-term soil health for your beef and livestock operations.

If you haven't tested your soils recently, now is a great time to get started! Don't know how to get started? Contact your local extension agent today!
