It’s the most exciting time of the year! This week, our incoming TAs have been hard at work preparing to teach our undergraduates. As part of their orientation, they participated in a Hebrew flash lesson, given by our very own Dr. Martin Chan. Now, they know just what it’s like to be a 101 student learning a new language at UK - and they are very excited to use what they’ve learned with their students.

First, alumni will be coming to speak to current students about career paths at our Career Day, followed by a keynote by alum Robin Michler. We’ll then spend Friday at Keeneland, and wrap up with a Saturday trip to the UK Homecoming Game v. LSU. You won’t want to miss this!

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating our very own Jeanmarie Rouhier-Willoughby as she shared with us tales of her scholarship throughout the years. During her time at UK, Jeanmarie has been a pillar of MCLLC. It is impossible to quantify how many lives she has changed. She has served as a beloved teacher, mentor, researcher, and friend. This talk was no exception; what a beautiful experience!

Congrats, Jeanmarie! Thank you for such a wonderful talk, and for all you’ve given to your students, your field, and this community. I hope your next chapter is full of joy (and La Croix!)
