Hayley's ship called the "MV World Odyssey" hosts over 500 students and around 500 staff, faculty, and crew members. Hayley is taking four classes: Global Studies (a required Andrew's program travels to the following countries in this order: United Arab Emirates (Dubai), India (Mumbai), Kenya (Mombasa), Jordan (Aqaba), Cyprus (Limassol), Greece (Piraeus), Croatia (Dubrovnik), Spain (Barcelona), Morocco (Casablanca), Portugal (Lisbon) and Germany (Bremerhaven).

The students take classes in each place, with the studies incorporating each country!

"I have loved meeting new people that will be lifelong friends," said Andrews. "Having this experience has allowed me to broaden my global knowledge and grow as a student and individual. Each culture has been so unique, which is a super neat experience. I have loved meeting locals and having discussions about each of our experiences in our respective countries. Every moment has been one I will always remember!"

Washington and Lee University will spotlight the relationship between university donations and the undergraduate student experience through a series of interactive programs during Philanthropy Education Week, March 6-9.

Through interactive events, including alumni panels and philanthropy trivia, students will have the opportunity to learn more about how donations shape the W&L experience and the importance of staying engaged with W&L after graduation. “So much of the W&L student experience is because of philanthropic donations,” said Abby Gilbert, assistant director of annual giving. “It’s not just about saying thank you to our donors, but understanding how philanthropy helps current students in direct and tangible ways.”
