Join us for our Engineering Capstone Final Design Showcase on Wed., April 10, 2024 at 8:30 am in the Center for Global Learning Atrium.
Senior Engineering Majors Presentations include:
Modine Test Chamber– Drew Larsen, Zach Moore
Design proposal for a safer, more permanent testing area of pressurized chiller units. The design features tiled 3/8 in thick steel panels, informed by extensive finite element analysis, to protect against high-speed metal object impacts.
GIguys – Jasmine Gipson, Mason Marchetti, Betsy Moore
Non-invasive colonic monitoring module recording body surface electrical signals for 24 hour ambulatory monitoring of colon motility. The system features a miniature 32-channel bioamplifier in a custom enclosure unit.
Lime Kiln Park – Sara Brown, Sarah Burd, Allison Pitts
Design proposals for updating Lime Kiln Park that seeks to update and enhance the community space. Designs crafted in response to extensive community survey work, feature inclusive play structures appropriate for a wide age group 2-12 years old.
RoboBoat– Sharif Wilson, Stephen Savage, Jacob Jackson, Michael Mercer.
Autonomously navigating surface marine vessel. The design features a stereo vision camera system and custom algorithm to guide the boat through a series of buoys and obstacles.
Kendal Traffic Calming– Isaiah Mefford, Alexander Mayer, Deuce Smoot
Design proposal for calming traffic at the entrance to Kendal and improving safety for pedestrians. The design features a raised crosswalk to reduce vehicle speed as well as a new sidewalk connecting popular walking paths on campus.
