Whether you stop by for a quick shift or stay for the full session, every helping hand makes a difference.

🍓 All produce harvested will be donated to help provide fresh food to food-insecure households in Rockbridge County.

Welcome home, Generals. We’re glad you’re here. 💙

As campus comes back to life, we’re excited to begin a new academic year together—and invite you to join us tonight for Convocation.

🎓 5:30 p.m. | Front Lawn

The evening will begin with an academic procession featuring our seniors, third-year law students, faculty and university banners, followed by Convocation remarks from Kenneth P. Ruscio ’76, W&L president emeritus and interim president. His address, “Into the Heart of It,” will mark the beginning of another year in the life of our community.

Afterward, join us on Stemmons Plaza for dinner and a chance to catch up, reconnect and celebrate the start of a new year together.

Here’s to a new year, new memories and being right where we belong—we’ll see you tonight! 💙

Join Washington and Lee on campus for an engaging weekend exploring the powerful connection between literature, law and ethics. 📚⚖️

The 2026 Law and Literature Weekend Seminar returns for its 33rd annual program, bringing W&L School of Law scholars and undergraduate faculty together to explore Louise Erdrich’s National Book Award-winning novel, The Round House.

Throughout the weekend, participants will examine Erdrich’s novel from legal, literary and ethical perspectives, exploring questions of justice, family, jurisdiction and the complex intersection of tribal and state law. Led by Allison Weiss, Professor of Practice at W&L School of Law, the seminar invites lawyers, readers, scholars and curious minds to join the conversation.

Now in its 33rd year, the Law and Literature Weekend Seminar continues W&L’s tradition of bringing people together to discover how literature can deepen our understanding of the law—and one another.

*Attorneys can earn two hours of CLE ethics credit for participating. 💙

Three countries. Countless switchbacks. One unforgettable adventure. 🥾⛰️

Our Tri-Border Hike through Austria, Italy, and Slovenia challenged participants with steep climbs, rocky forest paths, and even a European heat wave—but every mile brought the group closer together.

The journey became one of teamwork, laughter, and lasting friendships, with every summit earning a well-deserved toast. 🍻

A little adventure, a lot of laughter, and countless memories made along the way. 🚲🇪🇸

W&L alumni recently traded the classroom for the countryside during the Lifelong Learning and Outing Club’s Catalonia: Food, W**e and Bike adventure. From scenic rides along the Costa Brava to shared picnics, local markets, historic villages and conversations over great food and w**e, the trip offered the perfect blend of exploration, learning and connection.

As James Dick, director of Outdoor Education at W&L, shared, the journey was “a wonderful scenic ride full of adventures” — including a few wrong turns, plenty of laughs, new friendships and the kind of unexpected moments that make travel unforgettable.

Whether reconnecting with old friends or meeting fellow Generals for the first time, participants experienced what makes W&L’s lifelong learning opportunities so special: the chance to keep exploring, keep learning and keep building community long after graduation. 💙
