Tonight we had the honor of celebrating some very special members of our Panther family. The Liberty Masonic Lodge hosted a dinner to recognize our campus Teachers of the Year and Paraprofessionals of the Year, and it was a wonderful evening of appreciation and fellowship.

We are incredibly grateful to the Masonic Lodge for taking the time to recognize the dedication, heart, and impact these educators have on our students every single day. Liberty ISD is proud to have such an outstanding group of professionals serving our community.

🔥 Hometown Heroes: Life-Saving Bravery on FM 1011 🔥
This past week, during the Liberty City Council Meeting, the Liberty Fire Department had the honor of recognizing two extraordinary individuals for their heroic, life-saving actions.

On FM 1011, a serious collision left one vehicle overturned and another still in the roadway, smoking and beginning to burn. Mr. Bruce Reyes and Mr. Lindsay Delaney happened to be passing by at that very moment—the right place at the right time—and without hesitation, they ran toward danger when others might have run away.

Upon finding a woman pinned inside the second vehicle, Mr. Reyes forced the door open while flames from the engine compartment began to enter the passenger area. Using bottles of water from his own vehicle, he attempted to slow the fire’s spread long enough for Mr. Delaney to free the trapped driver. Working together, they successfully extricated the victim and moved her to safety.

Just moments later, when Liberty firefighters arrived on scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. There is no doubt that without the selfless bravery of Mr. Reyes and Mr. Delaney, this story would have had a tragic ending.

These two gentlemen demonstrated true courage, heroism, and compassion in the face of imminent danger. Their actions saved a life.

On behalf of the Liberty Fire Department and the entire community—thank you, Mr. Bruce Reyes and Mr. Lindsay Delaney, for your extraordinary act of valor. Your bravery exemplifies the very best of what it means to serve others. 💙
