Congratulations to William Jewell College alum Dr. Nic Wheeler on a national research honor.
Nic Wheeler, an assistant professor of biology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, has received the 2026 Take-Off Award from the American Committee of Molecular, Cellular and Immunoparasitology, a subgroup of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
The award recognizes an early-career scientist for significant contributions to cellular, molecular and immunoparasitology.
Wheeler earned his bachelor's degree in molecular biology here at William Jewell College before going on to a Ph.D. at Iowa State University and postdoctoral work at Merck KGaA and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
