William Jewell College Department of Nursing

William Jewell College Department of Nursing Celebrating over 40 years of mentoring nurse professionals Transfer students can enter the program in fall or spring. Our nursing program is CCNE accredited.

William Jewell Department of Nursing stands apart due to its strong commitment to liberal arts, leadership and clinical excellence. All nursing students are exposed to the distinctive liberal arts orientation of William Jewell College and are able to understand the notion of mind/body/spirit, not only within the context of nursing, but also through a variety of courses in the liberal studies curri

culum. The clear focus on the “whole person” gives William Jewell nursing students a decided advantage in understanding the complexities of the people they will care for as nurses. The Department of Nursing offers five educational tracks for obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing- the traditional 3- and 4-year tracks, two accelerated tracks (12 and 16 month), and an RN-BSN track. Each educational track offers the same nursing curriculum and requirements, earning the program a well-deserved reputation of being the premiere baccalaureate nursing program in the region. 🗨️ "As a mom who made the decision to leave her full-time job to focus on a new career opportunity as a nurse, the assistance I received from The Research Foundation was invaluable. The Nursing Student Emergency Fund bridged a financial gap during a difficult month. It allowed my children and I to grocery shop without worry and provided a month’s worth of gas. I appreciate donors who support The Research Foundation!"

You can help The Research Foundation raise $5,000 for nursing students in emergency situations on Giving Tuesday, which is TOMORROW! 💚🩺 Donate at the link in the comments below! ⬇️ Why should you support the Nursing Student Emergency Fund on December 2? "I became a nurse because of two personal experiences. The first experience was when my younger brother had a compound leg fracture and was life flighted from our rural town to Children's Mercy. His long recovery and many doctors’ appointments first piqued my interest in the medical field.

The second experience was when I was 16, my father was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. During the open heart procedure, the surgeon brought out my dad's tricuspid valve to show us. That experience really drew me into wanting to work in the operating room. I love being the advocate for my patients during procedures when they are asleep and unable to advocate for themselves. This is why I am a nurse."
