Hampton University Museum is honored to partner with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) to present a special 24-hour online screening of “August 28: A Day in the Life of a People”, by award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay.

The powerful short film weaves together six pivotal moments in Black history that all occurred on the same date, August 28, illuminating the resilience, struggle, achievement, and transformation that have shaped the African American experience.

THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO WATCH:
1) IN-PERSON- Join us at the Museum for screenings at 1:15 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm

2) HU Museum Website - Beginning at 8:00 AM, August 28, 2026, the film will be available on Hampton University Museum’s website. The film will only be accessible on August 28.

HBCU FOOTBALL Action Coming to Philadelphia Lincoln Financial Field

As part of Philadelphia Mayor and Lincoln University, Pa alumna Cherelle Parker One Philly, One HBCU Week October 26th-31st. The week will be full of activities across the city more information forthcoming. The week will conclude with two HBCU football games: Lincoln University, Pa versus Virgina Union University Friday night October 30th and Delaware State University versus Norfolk State University Saturday October 31st.
