Our Nebraska Behind Bars depth reporting team has been nationally recognized for its work investigating overcrowding and understaffing at the state's nine prisons.

Most recently, Livia Ziskey's story won first place in the Hearst Investigative Competition, qualifying her for the National Writing Championship in San Francisco this June, and Grace Lewis won the Investigative Reporters & Editors Student Individual Award and seventh place in the Hearst Investigative Competition for her work on the project.

Stay tuned, we'll have another exciting award announcement later this month 👀 and read the team's award-winning stories here: https://buff.ly/pFvLkQc
