Beginning in 2027, the UNMC College of Pharmacy will become just the second public university in the nation to offer an extended PharmD pathway. The six-year option will give working adults greater flexibility by reducing the annual course load and cost — allowing them to pursue the same PharmD degree.

In creating this pathway, the University of Nebraska Medical Center - UNMC is expanding access to pharmacy education while helping meet the state’s need for pharmacists.

Beginning in August 2027, students can opt for the traditional four-year program or earn their PharmD over six years.

He reflected on the university’s current standing, celebrated recent accomplishments in research, teaching, engagement and service, and outlined bold steps to continue positioning the NU System for long-term success.

Nebraska LEAD Program has selected 29 agricultural leaders from across the state as Fellows of Class 45. Beginning in September, they’ll take part in a two-year experience featuring in-state seminars and national and international study opportunities.

For 45 years, the program continues to bring Fellows from diverse agricultural backgrounds to learn from one another, build relationships and prepare for the challenges and opportunities facing Nebraska agriculture.
