What an incredible weekend for our Lincoln County 4-H Shotgun Team at the State 4-H Shotgun Match in Perry, Georgia!

A total of 982 shooters from across Georgia qualified for this event, and Lincoln County was proud to have 13 shooters represented. For many of our team members, this was their very first time competing at such a large event—and they handled the tough competition and rainy weather like champions.

We are proud to share that all of our shooters finished in the top 35% of competitors!

We could not be more proud of these kids and the hard work, dedication, and effort they have put in all season long. Our very first shotgun season in Lincoln County was a huge success, and we are excited to see this program continue to grow for many years to come!

Congratulations to all of our shooters on an amazing season!

We want to wish a massive GOOD LUCK to the Lincoln County 4-H Shotgun Team as they head down to Perry, GA this weekend!

These talented athletes will be competing in the State Shotgun Match, facing off against top shooters from every corner of Georgia. They’ve put in the hours, the practice, and the focus—now it’s time to let those clays fly!

We are beyond proud of this team and the hard work they've dedicated to the sport. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for each and every one of them on the field! Go get ‘em, Lincoln County! Bring home the gold! 🏆🍀

🚨 TOMORROW IS THE DEADLINE! 🚨

Don't let your kids miss out on the Wilkes/Lincoln Farm Safety Camp 2026! If you haven't turned in your registration forms yet, tomorrow, May 8th, is the final day to get them into the Wilkes or Lincoln Extension offices.

Here’s what you need to know:
Who: Kids who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade.
When: Thursday, May 28th (Check-in @ 8:30 AM | Classes 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
Where: McGill-Woodruff Ag Center.
Cost: Only $10 per camper!
What's included? Registered campers get a t-shirt, lunch, 2 snacks, and a goody bag!
Plus, they’ll learn vital skills in classes like:
⚡ Electrical & Gun Safety
🚜 Lawn Mower & Bus Safety
🛶 Boating & Fire Safety
🐍 ...and even a session on Reptiles!

☀️🌈 LINCOLN COUNTY EXTENSION 4-H SUMMER PROGRAMS ARE HERE! 🌈☀️

Get ready for a summer full of fun, friends, and hands-on learning experiences! From agriculture and STEM to healthy living and leadership, our programs help youth build life skills, try new things, and stay active all summer long!

📢 Open to rising 4th–12th grade students!

🌊 JUNE 5TH – LAKE DAYZ & SUN RAYZ
📍 Elijah Clark State Park
🕚 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
💲 Registration Fee: $20 (includes putt-putt & ice cream)

Activities include:
• Play a round of putt-putt
• Swim in the lake
• Bring lunch from home!

💐 JUNE 9TH – FLOWERS & FRIENDS
📍 4-H Office
🕐 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Participants will:
• Learn the basics of floral design and arrangement
• Explore different types of flowers and how to care for them
• Create and take home their own beautiful floral arrangement

🍓 JUNE 15TH – DOUBLE BRANCHES FARM
📍 Double Branches Farm
🕙 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Spend the day:
• Learning about agriculture on a local farm
• Picking fresh berries straight from the field
• Enjoying hands-on experiences and time outdoors

💦 JULY 2ND – WATER FUN FIELD DAY
📍 4-H Office
🕑 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Activities include:
• Water games and activities
• Fun relays and team challenges
• A great way to stay active and beat the summer heat!

🧵 JULY 16TH – SUMMER SEWING W/ PROJECT LINUS
📍 4-H Office
🕙 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Participants will:
• Help create blankets for youth in our community through Project Linus
• Learn sewing skills while serving others and making a difference

🎨 JULY 20TH – SUMMER SWIRLS TIE-DYE PARTY
📍 4-H Office
🕐 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Participants should:
• Bring a white t-shirt
• Learn tie-dye techniques and patterns
• Design a one-of-a-kind shirt for back to school!

🌟 National Volunteer Appreciation Week 🌟

During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate four incredible volunteers who make our 4-H Shotgun Team possible.

A huge thank you goes out to Marty Griner, Logan Griner, Paul Drake, and Adam Chastain.

These four men generously give their time, energy, and expertise to pour into the youth of Lincoln County. Their leadership, patience, and dedication help our shooters grow not only in skill, but in confidence, responsibility, and character.

We are truly grateful for the impact they make behind the scenes and on the range. Our program would not be the same without their commitment to our youth.

The Lincoln County 4-H Shotgun Team showed up and showed out!

We are so proud of this incredible group—13 out of our 17 team members qualified for State! 👏

A huge congratulations to our top individuals:
🥇 Zander Drake – 1st Overall Junior
🥉 Bowen Beggs – 3rd Overall Junior

And to one of our amazing Junior Teams for bringing home 🥇 1st Place Team !

These kids have worked hard, stayed dedicated, and it truly paid off. We couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them!

Good luck to our Lincoln County 4-H Shotgun Team as they compete in the State Qualifying Shoot today! 💥🎯

Our middle school shooters must hit 16 out of 25 to qualify for state, and our high school shooters must hit 20 out of 25.

These students have practiced every week, putting in a lot of time, effort, and dedication to get to this point, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.

Go represent Lincoln County 4-H well — we’re cheering you on all the way!
