Dear Alumni,

I am delighted to inform you that the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, during their meeting this past Friday, approved naming of the new College of Veterinary Medicine classroom building the Roger J. Panciera Education Center.

We know that many of our alumni and faculty who had the privilege of knowing Dr. Panciera as teacher, mentor or colleague, will celebrate with much joy. The classroom is scheduled to open and be available to our students in March 2020.

The Class of '67 has just enjoyed a great class reunion in Branson...a great time was had by all!

Alumni,

Dr. Keith Bailey will be leaving CVHS and his position as Director of OADDL, September 11, 2019. Dr. Bailey has contributed much to the success of OADDL. We acknowledge his efforts and thank him for the unconditional commitment and dedication to OADDL and Oklahoma throughout the years, and we are grateful. He will join the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as a Comparative Pathologist, with emphasis in research support; perform routine diagnostics and teaching/training. He will undoubtedly be a great success in his new position and we wish him all the best.

The college will begin a search for a new Director soon. In her role as Assistant Director of OADDL, Emily Cooper will oversee the function of the lab during the interim period.

I am excited to share that Ashley Hesser has been promoted to Assistant Director of Development for CVHS. Ashley joined the OSU Foundation in July 2018 and hit the ground running developing internal and external relationships that have advanced CVHS and Oklahoma State. We are fortunate to have someone with her background and passion serving CVHS and engaging alumni and grateful clients in moving our college forward. Please join me in congratulating Ashley.

NOTE FROM NICK

I reserved my room today
For reunion of ’67.
May be the last chance to visit
Before some are gone to heaven.

Do you remember our first reunion.
Lake Ouachita in barrack style.
Cheap as suited our income.
The Radisson should make you smile.

We had a great time remembering
It’s getting harder with time.
Now everyone remembers differently
But it’s fun and that is fine.

We must reserve by 8/18
Or just hope a room is there.
Joe has signed the contract
And he’s pulling out his hair.

So spend 3 nights in Branson
Together with other old vets.
Reserve it early if you can.
It’ll be better than shooting pets.

Alumni,

During its March 16-19, 2019 meeting, the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education, after review and discussion of our 2018 interim report as well as recent updates, voted to remove the major deficiencies in Standard 2 Finances, Standard 6 Students, and Standard 8 Faculty, as well as one of the minor deficiencies in Standard 9. The Council continued the college on Probationary Accreditation with minor deficiencies in Standard 9, a holistic review of the curriculum and Standard 11 learning outcomes.

Our next report is due August 15, 2019, that includes some additional reporting and documentation that Standards 9 and 11 are completed.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement to achieve this critical step to move our college forward. I will keep you informed on our progress to return to full accreditation.
