Livonia Save Our Youth Coalition- We are a coalition of local parents, teens, educators, health care workers, law enforcement, the faith community and substance abuse professionals. We’re all here for different reasons but with a shared mission to educate and empower the community regarding the health and safety of our young people with a focus on alcohol and other drugs.
You could be currently experiencing substance abuse within your household. Perhaps you have personally overcome addiction and want to inspire others. Or maybe you're a concerned citizen just looking to make a difference. No matter where you’re at, there's a place for you here to get connected with education, support and opportunities to help others. We’re so glad you’re here and look forward to meeting you.https://livoniasaveouryouth.org/

What is the Mocktail Party?
Answer: A safe way to teach individuals the reality of how many drinks It takes to make them unsafe drivers.
1. Participants can get a “drink ticket” at any of the participating sponsor tables.
2. All individuals will be asked to log the time they arrived at the event.
3. Visiting and getting a punch on the “drink card” at each table will represent one drink for the individual who holds the drink card.
4. As each individual leaves, calculate what their BAC (blood alcohol content) level at the designated table with the event computers or individuals can do this on their phones at https://www.calculator.net/bac-calculator.html.
5. Again, visits to the sponsor tables are calculated as drinks(for each location) and participants will plug in the other pertinent information(ie: height and weight) along with length of time they were at the Mocktail Party.
6. Please remember, this is only an estimate and will never be entirely accurate and results may be different when consuming real alcoholic beverages depending on what individuals ate, etc.
7. After or in between completing the assessment, stop by the Walking Taco Table to sign in for the event. We would like to get you more information about upcoming events.
