Check out the Hocking County Hay Bale Toss on Sunday, September 13, at the Hocking County Fair show arena following the Fair Royalty Contest.

Join in the fun! Participants and spectators alike can expect to have a good time.

All proceeds go to the Hocking County Youth Board.

What is the Hocking County Youth Board?

Hocking County Youth Board (4-H membership is not required.)

Mission Statement:
To empower youth to serve as trustees of their community and to demonstrate this service by promoting and participating in community service work and by seeking appointments for youth on boards of directors or trustees.

Purpose:
-To involve youth in meaningful volunteer community service.
-To introduce the community to the valuable youth resources they have in their community and to encourage and support using youth as volunteers.
-To provide opportunities for youth to serve on the board and/or committees of local organizations and to promote this idea to organizations in and away from our community.

Youth Board meets January thru May and August thru December. Meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month, except in November and December. Approved 4-H Volunteers and OSU Staff manage the Youth Board program.

ATTENTION MARKET AND LACTATING/DAIRY ANIMAL EXHIBITORS
The Drug Use Notification Form link is now open!

If you are exhibiting a market or lactating/dairy animal at the Hocking County Fair, please review the information below to better understand the Drug Use Notification Form submission process.

DUNF submission is REQUIRED by the Ohio Department of Agriculture for ALL market and lactating/dairy animals exhibited in Ohio.

This information is also being shared with families through 4-HOnline email.

Double check that all information is correct BEFORE submitting form(s).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND THAT ALL ENTRIES ARE CORRECT.

DUNF must be complete before animals can be unloaded at the fair.
DUNFs MUST be submitted by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 at 11:59PM.

Review the How-To instructions prior to linking to the DUNF form. This will help you in completing the form.

4-H clubs working in the Food Booth at the Hocking County Fair need to be aware of guidelines to follow to be productive during your club's work time.

Adults and older teens should be:
1) Working the cash registers (2 needed)
2) In charge of the pizza oven (1 needed)
3) Making sandwiches; serving hot food items and drinks
4) Washing dishes

Younger members should be:
1) Runners for cold drinks and cold food items
2) Manning the pop cooler and tea dispenser
3) Cleaning tables

Large groups should alternate members and switch after 2 hours.

*2027 Schedule sign-up will be posted at the Youth Center on Thursday, September 10.

Large clubs - Please consider signing up for Friday or Saturday night, as these are very busy nights.

As we celebrate 125 years of Ohio 4-H, we're inviting current Ohio 4-H members to showcase their creativity in the Ohio 4-H 125th Anniversary Art Contest! Create an original piece around the theme"4-H Makes a Difference" and creatively hide the number 125 at least twice in your artwork.

Learn about the Ohio 4-H program through one-on-one conversation with our 4-H educator, 4-H program assistant, 4-H volunteers and members. Visit us and explore the opportunities 4-H has to offer.
