Summer often brings changes in how we move — more walking, hiking, recreation, travel, work shifts, and outdoor activity. ☀️👣
Our bodies are constantly adapting to the demands we place on them. Connective tissues like fascia play an important role in movement, stability, force transfer, and recovery throughout the body.
Overuse injuries such as plantar fasciitis can sometimes occur when activity increases faster than tissues are prepared for — but movement itself is also often part of the recovery process.
Understanding how the body adapts to movement is one example of the connections between kinesiology, health science, recreation, and lifetime activity.
As summer activities increase, remember: gradual progression and recovery matter too.
