LLU SAHP's future PA's, powered by taquitos and sunshine☀️🌮

Cinco de Mayo recently brought our first and second year students together on the lawn for a well earned break in the middle of a demanding PA program schedule. A shared lunch, a shared purpose, and a shared experience grounded in the support of classmates and faculty who carry them through the every season of their PA journey. ♥️

We pass by this lawn every day, but this weekend it becomes the setting for a moment years in the making.
For our fellow LLU Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, this space will hold the closing of one chapter and the beginning of another as graduates walk across the stage this weekend.
From all of us at SAHP, congratulations to the Class of 2026, your moment has arrived.
Blessed Sabbath, and to our own soon to be graduates, your moment is almost here too.

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched.” — Proverbs 11:25 ✨
This Spring Break, our Nutrition & Dietetic students traveled to Peru alongside Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, and Dental students for an unforgettable mission trip 🇵🇪❤️
They stepped into communities with open hearts, made meaningful impacts, and returned with memories that will last a lifetime. At LLU, moments like these turn learning into purpose and remind our students that their calling can reach far beyond borders. 📸
Wishing everyone a blessed Sabbath and peaceful weekend 🤍

LLU SAHP is proud to celebrate Dr. Julie Kugel on being named a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), one of the highest honors in the occupational therapy profession. 🎉
Dr. Kugel was recognized at the 2026 AOTA INSPIRE Annual Conference & Expo, where she was honored for her lasting impact through leadership, education, advocacy, and service within the field of occupational therapy.
Serving as Program Director for the Post-Professional OTD program, Professor and Doctoral Capstone Coordinator within LLU SAHP’s Department of Occupational Therapy, Dr. Kugel continues to mentor and inspire future OT professionals while advancing the profession through her work and leadership. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 ✨

This week LLU SAHP gathered for our end of the year Celebration Chapel as we welcomed our new SAHPSA student officers and reflected on the year and the theme of gracious uncertainty. The “Mother May I” game onstage was the perfect visual for this season of life: trusting God even when the next step feels smaller than expected.👣🙏
Praying everyone heads into their next chapter, Sabbath, and weekend with peace in God’s timing and confidence that every step forward matters. 💛

Behind every diagnosis is a team you may never see, but their impact is undeniable💉 🩸 ⚕️

This week is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, and we're recognizing the amazing Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) students and faculty here at LLU SAHP!

Medical laboratory professionals are the ones behind the data that drives healthcare decisions. They turn lab results into answers that providers rely on. Every test run, every sample analyzed, every detail matters because lives depend on them.
Our CLS students go beyond the textbooks and actively build the skills behind the science. Through hands on lab experience, advanced instrumentation, and real world clinical training, they learn how to perform complex testing, interpret results, and ensure accuracy. This is the kind of immersive training that prepares them to step confidently into these critical and high demand roles from the moment they graduate.

To our future clinical laboratory professionals, your work may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every patient story!❤️

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.” Ephesians 3:20

This past year, we introduced LLU SAHP's innovative MOT Bridge Program, designed for Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTA's) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA's) ready to take the next step into a Master of Occupational Therapy degree.
From day one, they’ve built a community and been learning side by side, practicing together, and growing into their skills for the people they’ll serve 💙
During Occupational Therapy Month and always, we celebrate the work they’re stepping into!

Are you a PTA or OTA? Applications close May 1. Click the link in bio to learn more about our academic programs👍

Wishing you all a blessed Sabbath and relaxing weekend!
