Congratulations to the Southern Miss Gulf Blue Navigator program on receiving the Rising Tide Award from the Gulf Coast Business Council!

This award recognizes organizations that are advancing economic growth and innovation along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Since its launch, the Gulf Blue Navigator program has contributed an estimated $17 million in potential economic impact, helping bluetech startup companies access partnerships with the University, industry leaders, and state and federal agencies. In doing so, the program positions Coastal Mississippi as a hub for research, technology, and economic growth.

The Southern Miss-led Gulf Blue innovation initiative is positioning the Mississippi Gulf Coast as a global leader in ocean and maritime technologies.

Our facilities at the Port of Gulfport serve as a hub for uncrewed maritime systems and blue technology innovation, providing research, development, and support solutions to federal, state, academic, and industry partners. This includes collaboration with NOAA and the U.S. Navy to facilitate testing and evaluation of underwater autonomous vehicles.
