This week, we are celebrating our 2026 Southern Miss graduates! Spring Commencement ceremonies on Thursday and Friday will be in Reed Green Coliseum on the Hattiesburg Campus, followed by the Coast ceremony on Saturday in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Due to renovations at Reed Green Coliseum and Southern Miss Baseball games on the Hattiesburg Campus, select parking lots will be unavailable on Thursday and Friday. Refer to the parking map for suggested parking areas. Shuttle carts will be available to assist guests with mobility needs.

Southern Miss Gulf Park students Alexis Gentry and Olivia St. Germain recently shared their work at the Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity in Hattiesburg.

Gentry presented her findings on cownose ray movements, while St. Germain presented her Honors thesis research on Gulf sturgeon movement, earning a second-place finish in her category.

As marine biology majors and interns at the USM Estuarine and Movement Ecology Lab, they are gaining the experience and confidence to lead in the lab and make an impact in their field.
