On Tuesday, March 17th there will be an information session about interning at the Smithsonian Institution in the Anatol Center (AS-110) from 12:30-1:45pm featuring guest speaker (and former Smithsonian intern) Dr. Xóchitl Chávez from UC Irvine. This is a great opportunity to learn about internship opportunities at the world's largest museum.

The Historical Society will be looking for documents, pay stubs, letters, journals, photographs, event programs and other material related to the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and its lingering impacts on Long Beach from December 1941 to December 1942.

Many of L.A.'s freeways were built during the 1960s, but a combination of a freeway revolt, skyrocketing costs and a failure to increase the gas tax doomed the expansion of the freeway system after the 1970s.

We have more details about the touristification of the US Bank Tower. The tallest building in Los Angeles announced earlier this year that it would be getting an observation deck open to tourists and a restaurant, but there's more.
